Ideally a Chartered Structural Engineer is required to undertake with the minimum of supervision the design and detailing of small to medium sized projects. The project types will include alteration, refurbishment and new build projects eg residential developments. The successful candidate will be required to undertake the design of structures in concrete, steel, masonry and timber. The candidate will be able to demonstrate a professional competency in structural engineering, ability to earn the respect and confidence of other professionals within and outside the practice, present the practice externally in a manner appropriate to the position as a structural engineer. They will also need to be familiar and confident with current project/contractual procurement methods, have worked on a wide variety of projects in respect of size, value and type and also able to manage teams, internally including financial management performance.
